Tours and Outreach

Exploring the universe doesn't stop when the clouds return in fall. During the school year, select volunteers, led by Rick Kang, perform classroom outreach to schools all over Oregon to improve science literacy. In 2006, Rick and his crew's Electronic Universe program visited 84 schools, reaching 6081 students aged kindergarten through early college. Young students are introduced to the scientific method using actual data collected at Pine Mountain, while older students engage in astrophysics research.
